Drawn by Tom Logan’s statements while he explained some about Marion Medical Mission and the shallow well program, when he said ” the work seems impossible, but with God, all things are possible”, I was thrilled when I was accepted to go and help. It was a grand adventure from the begining to the end. Even months before we took off. The preparation was much and the details seemed overwhelming at times. After completing the first well, I knew God was in all the details. I saw His spirit alive and working through every level of this wonderful ministry. The African workers deep dedication to the task. The volunteers willingness to be His hands and feet. Yes, it was an indescribably incredible trip. After helping complete the 100th well, and coming to know dozens of both African and mzungu Christians. After seeing and hearing the depth of gratitude pouring from those we served. After witnessing up close how these peoples lives were so profoundly changed and the positive difference these wells make in the lives of the tens of thousands of people.
I thank God for this journey that did not end at my African destinations. I am blessed with new friends and overjoyed to be a very small part of this miracle.
