Now for a more upbeat story. I got to hold a celebration for shallow well team members from Kameme and Kapenda zones, along with the zone chairpersons, in Kameme. After, I loaded up team members from Kameme and went and put in another well. It was getting dark when we left the well site and on the road back we came across a broken down truck with around 30-35 people. I tried to fix the truck but no way was it going to start. I tried to push start it, but still no go. These good people did not want to spend the night out in the dark! Time now around 7:30 P.M. I tried towing the truck, but the rope kept snapping. I decided to push the truck the rest of the way into Kameme (around 5 clicks away). Finally we arrived in Kameme. The town has no electricity and no rest homes, and I felt really bad about leaving the good sisters and Reverend. I unloaded Kameme team members and loaded Kapenda team members and I delivered members all along the route back to Chitipa.
When I arrived (Tom was getting ready to send search parties out) and I informed Tom of what had happened. Tom asked if we unloaded both trucks could we bring them all into town! Time now around 9:30 P.M. We headed back out and picked up the good sisters at around 10:15 P.M. They were so thank-full, they blessed me and sang the whole way back to Chitipa. When we arrived at the Synod of Livingstonia compound in Chitipa (time now 11:30 P.M.) they could not thank us enough. This is an adventure I will not soon forget.
Glory To GOD.
